VCD is 74 min video on a 74 min CD or near 80min video on a 80 min CD...The only way to fit more is to use x(s)vcd, lower the video and audio bitrate, check some of the tmpgenc templates under tools for how to create those. But remeber that xvcds may not work on you dvd player.

keeping the video stream VCD compliant but reducing the audio bitrate on the audio stream down to 96kbps or even 64kbps should shrink the file by +100mb.

i wonder, does VCD compliant mean it won't play a VCD with a 64kbps audio stream, even if the audio stream is compliant?

i tend to think even the most finicky VCD/MPEG-1 decoder chips (in Toshiba standalones, for example) will allow a reduced bitrate in the audio stream.
