I'm trying to archive some DVD's for my dad, U571, Pearl Harbor, etc. and I'm running an Optorite 2500 drive which is 8x.
I used DVDX Copy to rip and then burn the archive. I'm burning to ProMedia, low cost dvd-r's and I'm getting pretty low quality, lots of glitches, pixelization all over the place, etc.
Do I need to adjust my burn speed, or am I just using crappy media?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
I also have smartripper, dvdshrink, and all of the necessary tools. Should I use shrink to go to the HDD and then burn vs. dvdxcopy's method?
Thanks.

Why would you use xcopy at all? Dvdshrink and dvddecrypter are all you need.

i'd also check on the media - that could also be the problem so try using better quality media just to check for differences... check out www.nomorecoasters.com for more info on that....With all due respect... and there is respect... -
Thanks. I have both decrypter and shrink, so maybe I'll go that route. I'm guessing that the burning into memory of dvdxcopy is screwing things up, vs. creating real files and burning from there.
Thanks a lot for the advice!
