  1. I have been using 4x BulkPaq DVD-Rs ever since i got my LG DVD-RW drive.

I ran out of discs and bought new Infiniti 4x DVD-Rs. However when i try to write something now, it says it will write at 2X and i am unable to change it to anything other than 2x.

DVDInfoPro should give you that. The app is free to try, so I suggest you download it and check your burner. You don't want to flash the firmware if you already have the latest.

Check for the latest firmware from the manufacturer's site. If it isn't the latest, the burners sometimes don't burn the newer media at the fastest speed

  6. the infiniti white top dvd-rs i tried were supposidly 4 speed, but it turned out they were 2 speed only, and the replacements were the same.
when i went back to the store, there were quite a lot of them left in the store and the guy said they were gonna send em back,as they were 1 and 2 speed, repackaged as 4 speed.
when i did burn them, they burnt like the bulkpaq tango dvd-rs,meaning they were crap.
better off getting rid of them and getting some ritek, another good brand.
