I have a dual layer DVD I want to burn, but every time I click on Write, I keep getting the message:
"Unknown media in the DVD. Please insert blank recordable media!"
There is NOTHING in the blank DVD-R DL. How can I burn the data now?

Don't burn DL media with anything but ImgBurn (it's free). If you don't like that answer, you won't find help here.
I strongly discourage the use of DVD-R DL. You really should use DVD+R DL discs instead. If you must use -R for some reason, then ONLY use Verbatim. You should be aware that burners must use some special settings to burn DVD-R DL discs correctly and ImgBurn is the only burner I know of that can do ti correctly. DVD-R DL discs are insanely expensive so you really need an excellent reason for using them. DVD+R DL are not only significantly cheaper, they are much easier to burn and offer somewhat better compatibility with DVD players in my experience. -
"somewhat better" is an understatement.
