I have a dual layer DVD I want to burn, but every time I click on Write, I keep getting the message:

"Unknown media in the DVD. Please insert blank recordable media!"

There is NOTHING in the blank DVD-R DL. How can I burn the data now?

Don't burn DL media with anything but ImgBurn (it's free). If you don't like that answer, you won't find help here.

I strongly discourage the use of DVD-R DL. You really should use DVD+R DL discs instead. If you must use -R for some reason, then ONLY use Verbatim. You should be aware that burners must use some special settings to burn DVD-R DL discs correctly and ImgBurn is the only burner I know of that can do ti correctly. DVD-R DL discs are insanely expensive so you really need an excellent reason for using them. DVD+R DL are not only significantly cheaper, they are much easier to burn and offer somewhat better compatibility with DVD players in my experience.

LOL! You may be right. My experience is too limited to draw any definite conclusions, but I can say that most of my DVD players had big problems with -R DL media. My newest ones did not though.
