  1. Hi all. In the past I've been converting NTSC videos to PAL using AVISynth and TMPGEnc, but since I've had my system reloaded, after installing TMPGEnc and using it for converting videos it's doing the job 10 times slower than it use to. Usually I can convert 1 hour videos in I think about 2 to 4 hours, now it's giving a time figure of nearly 2 days to do the conversion job and there's no way in HELL I want to wait that long!!!

I was wondering if I have installed a slower version of TMPGENC? Or is there something I'm doing wrong? Basically it's going 10 times slower than what it use to be, then again I installed a different version of TMPGEnc. Anyhow if anyone can help me out with this problem or suggest another conversion program that does a fast job with AVISynth I'd most appreciate it. I'm using TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 (2.58.44.152)

    Cheers

Have you checked so tmpgenc reads the runtime correct? if the source has vbr mp3 audio tmpgenc may get it wrong and will keep encode after the video has ended. It may help to change the directshow source reader priority in tmpgenc or convert the audio to wav.

    Have you added any filters?

But tmpgenc is still pretty slow, try quenc or hc or mainconcept mpeg encoder instead.

  3. Thanks mate. Tried Main Concept MPEG Encoder and it works sweet . Converts 1 hour of video in roughly 8 to 9 hours which is good.
