    I've been using RecordNowMax to burn and Princo 4x media with the white tops, the thing is that I've been burning with the exact same variables (program, media brand/type) before at 4x, then it started only going at 2x, now only 1x... Still same media and programs

    I haven't flashed it with any firmware since it was working fine. Would I have to do it now? Or is the burner ready to die or something and go the warranty route (only had it for 2 months)

    try other software copytodvd nero clonedvd if the problem does not go away flash the firmware.
