  3. Many thanks to developpers.

The release version seems faster than the latest beta.

    Congrats for the good job.

Oh yeah, that would be because we've managed to reduce the performance hit due to the progress bar. The next release will probably have even better (though maybe not as pretty) progress bars, with a minimal tax on CPU.

it can do everything and more baby!
If you have not done so already, make the switch, it feels soo good

oh and i would re arrange your list like this
    1st - MacThe Ripper
    2nd - YadeX
    3rd - OSeX
    4th - dvdbackup

thats how much the app is out of date and old!

  10. I likes it Mikey. Speed seems up & compatibility, as always, excellent.

Only one problem. I often rip two DVD's at the same time to make compilations for my kiddo (ever notice how kid DVDs are 30-40 minutes long with 20 minutes of initial advertising before you can even access the menu). MTR 2 does not allow me to rip from both drives simultaneously, which I achieved previously by having two copies of MTR 1.5.x open at the same time. Now the second copy doesn't allow drive selection or nuthin' when the first is already ripping.

Since CloneDVD can still copy, will MTR be able to do the same?

    WW and Geezerbuttz,
great job! Love 2.0's interface and
speed and the bomberman face is
    hilarious!

Question: I made a backup using MTR
    without setting a new RCE.
I had tested it in DVD Player before
burning, and its working fine, and
in my standalone, it plays it fine.

So is it absolutley necessary to set
a new RCE if one is detected
    by MTR?
Will there be something mysterious down the line
    happen if I don't?

  19. I you want to assure that the disk will play in ALL dvd players , then yes...

Just coz it works on yours , does not mean that it will work on everybodies..

If RCE is detected.... remove it .... thats all you need to know.!!!!

  20. Trying MTR 2.0 for the first time.

I insert the disk, fire up MTR 2.0 and MTR displays the message "READ ERROR! Cannot open IFO file". MTR then becomes unresponsive and I have to force-quit the app.

Assuming that it is true there is an IFO that can't be read, is there any way to determine which one? I can find no way to display this information.

Could you contact us via email at mtr@wormintheapple.gr, and send us your Console.log and system.log files (just the last few lines of the latter)? Ask if you don't know how to locate these files. Thanks.

My reply to you bounced back, see private message... Here's the gist of it, though:
It looks like the crash was caused by Unsanity APE. We do not support MTR running with APE hacks. Either uninstall APE, or deactivate it specifically for MTR, as it causes serious stability problems.

Paranoid Android is an APE module. APE is Unsanity's Application Enhancer framework for hijacking applications' protected memory and inserting their code arbitrarily into them, wreaking all sorts of havoc. If you care about stability on your system, you should stay FAR, FAR away from all APE modules. You can disable APE on an application basis, but there's no way to only allow it for certain applications, for some idiotic reason. The best solution is to just not use their software.

Bomberman keeps yelling at me after I rip a DVD. I didn't know Bomberman cared about piracy, with him being a cartridge based character and all. Still, it rips my R2 I-Man DVDs in like twenty minutes, so its all good. Woo!
If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.

  27. I have just recieved a message from WW that some IDIOTS in the DVD rip scene are pissed at the success of MTR , PISSED that i do not wish to share the code that I WROTE, so thay are going to petition the VideoLan Comunity to sue me for violation of the GPL ( the fact that i link to Libdvdcss , and use it unmodified seems to be irrelevent)..

Several people have attempted to get the Source that i wrote to see how things were done , and at every attempt i have rightly refused. Now they seem to be going to try underhanded sore looser methods to obtain what they have no rights to.

I will not be THREATENED , PUSHED , or BLACKMAILED by anyone,

As of now MacTheRipper is Dead.

You can all blame the greedy idiots for this.Talk about killing the software development scene.

We have ALWAYS declared what Libs we have linked to,It has never been hidden.

As a point of interest ( and as a paid user ) FFMPEGX uses GPL code althrough its code ( albeit linked into applescript) why has nobody threatedned major for the sourcecode? He even charges for the app , so it should be more relevant.

interesting enough thou .... as OSEX , DVDBackup all link to the same libs , I did not see any threats there , do you ?

I think anybody with average braincells can start to see a picture building up here eh!!

This is a shame as 2.1 was already well under way,And was slated to contain many new updates and enhancements.

I am very sorry to the genuine users who supported me during the development of this App , but I think you can understand my opinion, and why I feel I have to react in this way.

If Any body from form The VideoLan Community wishes to talk to me they may contact me throu WiseWeasel.

    Geezerbuttz.
