So far ASKA CD-R disks are the only ones that I can use to make VCDs that play on my Samsung 709. I'm running near the end of my supply and need another supplier. I've tried other manufacturers but have not had any luck so far. Samsung disks work according to the samsungmedia.com site however I have yet to find a supplier stateside.

The alternative is to use CD-RW disks and that may be what I'm forced to use. Hardly the best use of rewritable media.

  2. Try Memorex CD-R. They work great for me.

Are you talking about the Memorex Pros?

I've tried the standard Memorex. They haven't worked for me.

It's peculiar, I can read them (the VCD's burned on standard Memorex) on my computer DVD-ROM drive but the Samsung complains that it isn't readable. I've burned VCDs on RW media successfully so I'm pretty sure of the process.

    Thanx for the response.

Another thought, and this one may be most significant. I am trying to use 80min CD-R media. Does anyone know if the Samsung 709 can deal with 80 minute media?
