I am trying to make a buckup of an episodic DVD and don't want tocompress the data too much. I am trying to use Nero Vision Express 2, to create two separate DVDs and split the titles between the two without compression and create new menus for each. How do I split a title in is entirety to a single file?

    Any ideas?

  2. Rip each title one by one with DVD Decrypter in IFO mode selecting the corresponding PGC. While at it, you can also utilize Stream Processing to demux the title and get rid of audio and subs you don't need.

OK! done thatr, thanks! But now, what is the best way of selectively burning these epsodes? I have just tried Nero VisionExpress to create the DVD but some of the vobs are converted in to mpeg files. Not all, but some. This means that the transition between them skips very slightly when the final DVD is encoded and compressed with Nero Recode2. If I rename the vob files as each episode, what it the best program to comile vobs only to DVD?

  5. Pauses between the episodes (non-seamless transition) is a limitation of the authoring program. It doesn't have anything to do with MPEG files vs. VOB. If you did everything right in DVD Decyptor, you'll get the pauses only if they were present on the original DVD.

I don't think having pauses between episodes is a big deal, especially since it might take a lot of time to get rid of them. For example, you can merge all the MPEGs with TMPGEnc, although I believe it can't process AC-3 sound. I would use Scenarist myself to get a smooth playback, but it's way more complicated than NeroVision.
