    i have this mpg movie file and when i try watching it on windows media player it wont and it trys to get the codecs but than gives me an error

    whats up with that?

    can anyone help me?

    Can you please post what the error says? Most likely the mpeg file is corrupted.

    It may be encoded in MPEG-2 format. If you do not play DVDs or SVCDs on your system, you probably do not have one installed. I suggest you install one of the free MPEG-2 codecs and try again. I prefer the elcard MPEG-2 codec. It can be installed from the Kazaa Lite codec pack. I suggest you only install codecs you are missing, otherwise you might mess up some other video application.

  4. I once used the ATI Aiw 128 PCI capture card and captured a lot of files in one of the formats available with the ATI.

    Years later I ran across these files on CD and decided to take a look at them and got the type of messages you did. I had moved ahead to better computers and new software and no longer use that particular video card. I did a little research and found it was a format propriatary to ATI and I could download the neccessary codec from the ATI site. Maybe you have a situation like this, that is, if you have viewed them before.
    If it works, don't fix it.
