Hi all, I recently bought a new mobile phone, (the Nokia 6600) which is capable of recording small videos. I decided to purchase a bluetooth adapter for my PC, which allows me to transfer files to and from my computer and phone.

After sending my first small video clip to my computer, it played back as expected in RealOne Player and QuickTime, but Windows Media Player could find the required codecs. I was curious to see whether I could send small video clips I had saved on my computer to my phone. The clips are saved as *.3GPs on the phone, although it can play several file types, including: (.amr, .mp4, .3gp, .rm, .ram, .ra and .rv) and I am able to convert normal video clips, which I have saved on my computer, to MPEG-4 using VDMod, but I receive the message "unrecognised file type" when I try and play them on the phone.

Should I try and encode them to a different type of MPEG-4, instead of this XviD format I have been trying? Would DivX5 or DivX3 work?

Unusual problem I know, but any help or comments would be appreciated, thanks all.

U can encode to 3gp using the free (after registration) Nokia multiMedia Converter. Reads almost any format as source. Ther's another 3gp encoder available also, but I keep forgetting its name...
