Is it too much trouble to insert a disc , set your burn speed to 8x or 12x and burn it. It wouldn't be any different a time for a CD-r or a CD-RW.

Also consider yourself extremely lucky that makntraks has still got yellow cards. That was your 13th post and it could have been very unlucky.

    700 / 8 = 87.5 seconds
    700 / 12 = 58.3 seconds

Those times are approximate but within +/- 600 secs.

    Northcat,

I think you have your numbers a little wrong. 87.5 seconds? C'mon, leadin takes that long.

At 12X, 8 miinutes +. At 8X, probably half again as long, like 12 minutes. 2XDVD, 30 minutes, 6 times the data, unless you are giving the disks away, go DVD and get 6 times the data in the same length of time.

Back in the good old days, my 2X-1X took 35 minutes to tell me the burn was no good, and that was with a SCSI drive

    Cheers,

    George

I said give or take 600 seconds.

I think my numbers are accurate...I have a HP 9100a series CD+RW burner...though to be perfectly honest since purchasing my DVD burner, the CD burner has been on the shelf...some 3-4 years now. So my numbers may be off.

700Mb is a full 80Min CDR, so at 1X it would take 80Min, so at 8X it would take.............yup 10Mins.
