Hi,
I know a VOB file can be played using power dvd on the computer but can it be converted somehow to play as a VCD or SVCD, burnt to CD-R and be played in a stand alone DVD player?
If so I'd appreciate it if someone could point in the right direction.
TIA,
kwik

kwik,
Check the other thread you started on this (frowned on here). -
Thanks once again for pointing me towards an editor or different editors to choose from. I've been reading the how-to's and different help manuals and I'm sure that this is going to be a trial by error process unless I get lucky right off. lol
Again, many thanks for the reply and have a nice day.

the best way to do this is by ripping the dvd to your hd using dvddecrypter or smartripper.
then open the vob files using dvd2avi.
save the project to your hd.
load the project into tmpgenc or other encoding software and encode to vcd, or dvd compliant mpg files.
look for dvd to vcd guides for more detailed steps. -

All done in about 1 minute using the search facility. If in doubt, Google it.
