I've been using version 7 for a long time w/o problems, as a matter of fact I love its capabilities and quality. But the bug of upgrading is always bothering me, so my question to everyone that upgraded to CS is it worth the $$$?

I'm short in cash and don't want to take chances even with Photoshop...

What are you using it for? Business or Personal

If you use it to make money... then yes buy it.

If you wanna use it to make an avatar... then it's a waste.

If you do buy it do yourself a favor an splurge on the whole CS package. I believe it comes with Illustrator, InDesign, and GoLive in addition to Photoshop. Between Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign you can pretty much create any piece of print media you'd ever want. Oh and Acrobat Pro is worth the $$$ even with other Adobe products.

Otherwise 7 is just as functional as 8. The only part about 8 that I like is being able to edit in rectangle pixels for video.

I don't have CS yet, but we do have it where I work and I have used it. And I think it is well worth the money depending on what you want to do with it, as AND1 said. If you are just doing some simple editing of pics then I wouldn't upgrade, but if you are going to use it on some more complex projects to make some money with then I definitely suggest it and by all means splurge and get it all.

I would say that if you're into digital photography, especially if your camera shoots raw, CS is really worth it.

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?
