All I did was change out the black and all of a sudden the cyan dropped down more. Me thinks epson is being sneaky with it's prescious.

There are 6 total cartridges. The color go for about $12.00 and the black goes for around $16.00.

All I did was change out the black cartridge and the damn cyan(blue) dropped down to half of what was originally there. You can make it out on the pic.

  4. Looks like it did a cleaning... or in other words it ate ink.

Whoas! 6 cartridges! I guess when I purchase one I'll only be using it only to print dvds.

Nah man, thats bull! Epson knows that their money is in ink refills and they program their stuff to do this kind of thing. Guess ill have to get that ink saver proggy. There are 2 out right now. One is for all printers and its a generic type to save on ink and the other is freeware by some Russian dude that supposedly really knows how much ink is available in each cartridge, but I dont think the R300/200 is supported as yet.

I know there are chip resetters and always full ink chips for them. resetters go for around $15 and the chips for $15+ each.

Looks like that printer only has one section to the capping station, so when you change carts, and it sucks ink for the new one, it sucks all of them down.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

A buddy of mine prints a lot of photos, and he has his printer set up with pint ink bottles feeding to the cartridges with plastic tubes. Looks a little ugly with the cover removed, but at least he put the screws to the printer companies that base their profit on ink sales.

I like your style Redwudz. I have been refilling ink cartridges for almost a year now. Cannot remember when was the last time bought a cartridge.

I bought some generic cartridges when I bought the R200 and apparently they come with 30% extra free...

Haven't tried them yet, is this a trick to fool the the Epson software and as such relevant to the thread?

Hmm..tha looks very interesting. Can you explain what benefit it would really give me? I plan on only using the Epson Carts. (every test I've seen on the aftermarket ones have not been favorible if color accuracy and life expectency are important to you)

I also have an old 740 (bought the R200 to replace it) The PC sees it, but it fails to print. Maybe this tool can get it going. (would love to put it in the boys room and at least finish off the new Carts in it!)

  16. Have only used it on my trusty C40 up to now (haven't printed enough on my '300 to need it) but have found that cartridges can be reset at least twice and will carry on printing. I hate to think how much ink I've wasted in the past.

Ahhh, so your saying the Epson sensor/software are not accurate and don't use all the ink? That is interesting!!!!!

On the R200/300...I also wonder if they'll ever offer the Durabright series of inks....I think it sucks they don't already. The Pics from it are awesome. Just wonder about longivity of them.

It's been finally updated for the R200/R210 Printers! So far looks like it works great, recognizes everything no problem.
