Okay, on most DVDs, there is a "FBI Warning" or something that FIRST comes up once you play a movie, and I was wondering how I can add my own to my backup DVDs. I'm asking either how to exchange that FBI Warning still picture with my own, or adding my own picture (with or without sound) before that warning. Does anyone know how to do that? Can someone lead me to a guide or something? Thanks in advance...

Nero Recode2 allows you to replace anything you like with either another clip, a default still, or your own still. I have a stock set of stills that I use when I remove studio idents, warnings etc, and another if I kill bonus features. Occassionally I create custom stills for certain disks (my T3 backup has a picture of Arnie with the words "This feature has been terminated" in place of the stills - corny but fun)

Some other packages simply replace it with a black still (DVD X Copy Platinum).

    What are you using ?

Of course, if all you want is the movie, simply reauthor with only the main feature and audio, and the rest is gone anyway.

Yeah, i got the idea when I used DVDxCopy, i hated that message in the beginning, and I wanted my own. But i use various programs to back up dvd's... .usually DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. I haven't heard of Nero Recode2, and never attempted to edit DVD's, and I'm starting to now. I will check that out. What you said with that T3, I want to do stuff like that. Yeah, corny, but it's fun and it's custom...

  5. Hey guys,

I have been using Recode2 in order to get a series of 5, 28-minute clips to fit on one DVD.

But I tried Recode2 for DVD backup, and the DVD came up as copy protected, and Recode quit. Normally I’d use DVD Shrink, but heard that Recode2 had superior re-coding. So if I want to use Recode2 for DVD backups, how would I go about it? Do I need another ripping software? (Not taking anything away from DVD Shrink – it has been great so far.)

    Thanks,

    Paul

LoL, do you plan to start a competing investigation bureau?
