  1. Hi everyone, it's good to have the site back. Congratulations

    I'm looking for a socket 7 motherboard for AMD K6-2 500MHz, with 2X or 4X AGP slot.

I need suggestions, recomendations, and if possible an internet site where I can buy it new!!!

I know it's difficult and of course I know it's an old board.

I was thinking on the FIC PA-2013 ATX motherboard, any other suggestion???

    Thanks

Don't know where to get one nowadays, but my bro is looking to upgrade and he might sell you his old one. It is a ALi MAGiK motherboard with an AMDK6-2 at 400Mhz in it right now... email me if you're interested...

  3. Thanks TIbrO, but I really want this one new...

I already have the processor. I got a problem with my BIOS, it actually is in blank, and I need to reprogram it, find a new one, or get a new motherboard.
Now I have a SOYO 5ehm motherboard and I have no idea how to reprogram it........ the upgrade process failed and my BIOS is f***ed up.
If anyone has a suggestion the let me know..... thanks.

Oh man does that suck hairy ass...
Every time I update my BIOS I sit there staring at the progress bar of the updating BIOS and if I believed in a god or something, I bet I would pray...
    Very scary stuff!
I've always wondered how I would recover from that if it ever happened to me.
Now that your BIOS is all screwey and basically not even there, does the computer boot up enough to ask you to flash it again? Because if it does, then just give the update another try, or use the BIOS that was in there before. Luckily my EPoX 8KTA3+ has the Flash ROM chip as a socketted chip, and I can remove it, send it to EPoX, and they send me a new one.

  5. My BIOS can be removed, but I don't live at the US, so I don't have support service to reprogram it.

And no, it's totally dead, I have no video, when I turn it on I get beeps from the speaker indicating the bios isn't programmed.

In any case, today I gave my computer to a repair center where migth be posible to reprogram it. I just hope so. Tomorrow I'll know....

I use the DFI boards, specifically I am using the K6BV3+/66 (for those of us with AT cases), but you might want the k6XV3+/66 (the ATX case version). It's very similiar to the FIC MB you mentioned and I only bought DFI because of the placement of the stuff on the MB suited my case better, plus it had some other better features that I liked.
To find a vendor go to http://www.pricewatch.com
For a specific vendor send me a private message and I'll hunt for my reciept.

  7. Thanks, but.......... it works now!!!

I'll post the solution in case someone else goes trough this (I hope not, believe me).

The BIOS was't correctly or totally programmed, so it wasn't detecting the AGP slot nor the DIMM memory. So, by using SIMM memory and a PCI video card the computer ran again. This was done done after clearing the cmos memory.

Now, here was used another flashing BIOS program and.... it worked.

I have my PC back and works fine with the BIOS upgrade.

If you have questions just post them.
