If I use dvdshrink and only take out the main movie, set the settings to: "no compression" and backs up the dvd, do I get any quality loss from the original??
I did'nt think that I would but when I pressed "backup" dvd shrink started to encode the dvd-file.. Why does dvd shrink do that? And don't I get a quality loss when the program encodes the dvd-file?
Please help!

If you set q at 100%, I'm pretty sure (even if I haven't verified it) Shrink leaves the video stream as is. It never encodes (it transcodes) but at 100% the video will be untranscoded. What takes time might be other stuff like ripping, demultiplexing, remultiplexing and such.

Thanks for all the answers!
But when I loaded the file into dvd shrink I have allready decoded it with dvd decrypter.. So it sould not be the decryption that takes time, or??

It's stripping out all the stuff you chose to not keep and recreating the IFO's, BUP's, etc. This takes some time.
