    I use MPC to view my videos but I have terrible lag problems when using the seek bar. I am constantly using programs to convert the videos so they'll seek instantly. The problem is that I lose video quality when converting.
    The formats I convert from are: mpg, wmv, and avi.

    Any advice on how to increase video quality when converting?

    I generally use total video converter or any video converter. I'm not familiar with the video settings so I'm not sure what needs to be tweaked.

    A lot of times the file only needs to be reindexed rather than converted completely. You can try asfbin on the WMV files and DivFix++ on the avis. http://divfixpp.sourceforge.net/home.htm

    Excellent, thank you. I just found out I can use quickstream fix in videoredo to fix mpegs as well.
