  2. Does it play in your PC ? Are you sure it encoded correctly ? Is your TV switched on ?

In other words - how can anyone help, if all you tell us is that you use TMPGEnc, and try to create a SVCD? Describe everything from source material to final CD.

No, really we're gonna need more info than that. This is what you'll need to include -

Video Codec (Xvid/Divx etc) If you don't know Gspot is a program that'll tell you.
Audio Codec (MP3, OGG, AC3 etc) again Gspot
    Running time.
Have you checked this for bad frames using Vdub ?
Does the original play fine on your pc ?

    etc, etc, etc . . .

  10. this is the root of the problem, when it starts to encode to mpg it only takes 10 minutes.it should take hours shouldn't it?when its encoding there is no vision in the black box.i've checked that i'm doing everything correctly(frame rate etc...)yet the torrent file is perfect.what is it i'm doing wrong i've searched every forum on earth...........lee

Try installing FFDSHOW and start the encode again. It's another xvid decoder that seems to get along with TMPGEnc better than the native xvid codec. No guarantees, but it might be worth a shot.

Try raising the directshow priority, 2nd link below.

  16. got it.found this on here.this forum is superb.thanks chaps.....lee

If TMPGEnc says that the video time / runtime is way too long
TMPGEnc keeps encoding after the end of video with only a black screen
Try change the directshow reader priority, in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 2 or to the top of the plugin-list and reopen the video.
If that doesn't help try convert the audio to WAV audio before converting and use the wav as audio source.
And if all that didn't help you can always use the source range to select exact what to encode, under Settings->Advanced in TMPGEnc.
