  1. Hello All
I have a VCD with a Dat file in it. The file plays very slowly, like the movement of actors and actresses does not seem normal, it is slow and jerky. There is no problem with cd, just that the DAT file is playing slowly than it should.
Looks like when the file was ripped, it was ripped with some parameter being wrong.
I can rip it again in virtual dub but don't know which parameter to change to see if the Dat file can be repaired.
    can someone please advise?

Try ripping the VCD with ISObuster.

I think you did not understand the question. I do not have any problem with the cd itself. ISOBuster is used to extract fiels from a damaged cd but I dont think it can rip a dat file.
My problem is that the dat file plays slowly than it should. This is true whether I play from a cd player or a hard drive. Its the dat file that needs to be re ripped again but I dont which parameter to change to speed it up.

I understood your question perfectly. My suspicion is that your dat was improperly ripped, causing it to play incorrectly. Hopefully ripping with ISObuster will fix your problem. Follow the excellent guide Baldrick linked to.

  7. I tried but unfortunately it did not work. Extracting with the mode2 headers filter results in a 0 MB file. I guess I will have to scrap this vcd.
    Thanks for your help folks
