TMPGEnc problem - what's wrong here? (screen shots)

As for your problem, is your source error free?

Yes, I believe it is - at least as far as VDub-mp3 freeze is able to check for. I have since done another test to discount this possibility using one of the Windows Media Player test files included on the M$ Windows installation discs and exactly the same error happens at the same point each time during a 2-pass VBR encode. CBR works fine but not VBR.

Seems crazy but:

Shorten the filenames
Shorten the directory names
Do not use spaces in file or directory names.
Do not use more than one '.' in file or directory names.

...or your version of TMPGEnc is f*cked up. At 50 % during a 2 pass VBR, that's when the actual encoding (and writing to disc) starts.
