  1. Hi -

I have a brand new Pinnacle Studio AV/DV card. When I enter capture mode in VirtualDub, it tells me "Capture Device not detected" then "Virtualdub cannot connect to the desired capture driver. try all available drivers" then "PANIC! Virtualdub cannot connect to any capture drivers!" and finally the prog reverts back to its normal mode.

Does anyone know of a driver I can install that will allow me to capture in VDub with this card? Preferably it would be a driver that still allows the Pinnacle software to see the card as well.

    Thanks -

Did the card come with any drivers and have you checked the site for updates?
    Hello.

  3. I downloaded the drivers found on the website; I skipped the ones on the disk assuming that anything posted on the site would be newer/better. I'm thinking there may be an open-source third-party driver i could use. For some reason VDub doesn't see the one that comes from Pinnacle!

You probably know this, but if you are trying to capture DV, Virtualdub won't work. If you are capturing an analog source, sorry, don't know.

Since your OS is XP, your drivers are WDM. Virtualdub is supposed to work with WDM drivers provided you have WDM wrapper installed
XP is supposed to come with the wrapper, yet some people find that they need to install the wrapper even with XP.
I have a dual boot 98 and XP with WDM drivers, virtualdub works in both.
The WDM wrapper used to be available in the tools section. It is no longer there.
You can try locating it through google.
But as per reports, many people are unable to use virtualdub with WDM drivers even after installing wrapper.

  6. I'll look into acquiring this wrapper of which you speak. Thanks very much for everyone's help!
