  1. can anyone give me any ideas how i can convert this ntsc avi to pal!! maybe i dont have to !! i am not so sure . My standalone alone dvd will play ntsc 23fps !! on my pal tv.

  2. If your standalone plays back NTSC on your PAL TV (as mines does) then you need not convert it. Follow the guides for converting it to whatever the target format you are after (eg SVCD or DVD) and it'll do fine.

    i thought maybe that it would play on my standalone dvd - but i did not want to go through hours of conversion and adding subtitles to find that it did not play!

  4. Why don't you just make a small section of your video, perhaps the first five minutes and then burn it to a DVD+/-RW to see if it works? That's what I do, and it's saved me a lot of coasters since I'm a fidget and I like to mess about and find limitations.

    Well then convert the NTSC 29.970fps AVI to an NTSC VCD but just do like 5 minutes worth then burn on a CD-RW or even just a regular CD-R since they are rather cheap.

    If it works then you know that you can avoid the NTSC to PAL conversion which can be rather tricky.
