I have Compro's external Videomate Cinema capture set up.

I don't seem to get any sound in VDub, during the preview/capture and the output AVI also has no sound. I've tried the latest version of VDub.
When I open Compro's own PVR app, the sound is present.
I'd prefer to use Vdub as it can capture AVI whereas Compro's app can't.

I've checked that the Line In on the recording mixer window is selected and the volume is turned up.
I have the 3.5mm lead running from the external box's Audio out to the PC's line in.
The fact that the PVR app has sound means it's getting to the PC ok.

    Any ideas, please ?

I've also tried using my bundled Powerdirector Pro but this also has no sound.
Still only have it working in Compro's PVR app.
What ever other apps use to access audio isn't working.

    even more info,
When I hook my speakers directly to my capture box there is no sound there. If I open Compro's PVR the sound returns, same aas my original post.

Something is stopping the external box outputting sound when using other capture apps.

    Important finding!

The problem of the AV box not producing audio is only for the tuner.
If I connect to the Composite In the AV box works fine.

Prior to now I've only ever used Virtualdub to capture the Composite input so I've never noticed this problem before.

Perhaps all tuner cards are like this!

I just tried VirtualVCR and initially got no tuner sound like VDub and PowerDirector Pro.
I did eventually get sound though.

I went into the Audio tab under Settings and chose the TV Audio button.
Now even though Stereo option was already selected, when I clicked on it again tuner audio appeared at my speakers.

None of those other apps have the same audio settings screen so I can't do the same with them.

How is VirtualVCR different from Virtualdub in the way that they source the capture signal, particularly the audio ?
