Regular movie from my Samsung Digimax i5. Plays fine in MPC and GSpot.

Gspot says the sound is 0x0050 (MPEG (MP1/MP2)) 22050Hz 64 kb/s (1 chnl) but also reports upon rendering:
    Code:
Failed to connect Output pin 0x05be6c64 ("XForm Out") on MPEG Audio Decoder to input pin 0x003a83fc ("Input") on filter 0x038139b2 ("Video Renderer") ConnectDirect() failed Error: 0x80040207: (unknown)
    VirtualDub says:

I tried reinstalling K-lite Mega Codec Pack.

What should I do? Thanks for helping!

First, codec packs are evil are are known for causing hard to correct codec and system issues.

Second, try extracting the audio with a different tool such as GoldWave.

Extracting the audio is no problem using VirtualDubMod, but it won't play the sound while dubbing. VirtualDub (original) won't even touch the sound, even if I first extract it to wave using VDM.

KLM codec pack has always worked fine for me, just not this once. I've been able to open and edit the movies from this camera before, I don't know if there's some bug in the latest KLM or something...

The answer is Mp4Cam2AVI. Converts audio to PCM without touching the video. Ready for VirtualDub right away. Convert to uncompressed AVI and it's ready for Camtasia and other effect-adding, very-easy-to-use producers.

And now that I recall it right, I was never ever able to handle these camera files problem free. Now I am, thanks to Mp4Cam2AVI.

    Thanks anyway, Krispy Kritter!

  5. Not only...
You can use Avidemux or MediaCoder to recompress or decompress only audio (copy video).
