Hi there
I've been using Nero Recode with success these days but I've faced a major challenge: my pet shop boys dvd.
there are more than 40 videos on this disc (7 Gb), so I had to squeeze it to 50% to make it fit the dvd-r!
Well, you can imagine the results.... PIXEL-PARTY!! Lots of blockyness everywhere, specially on darker videos! To the point where I realize if it was a xvcd it would look much better...
I wouldnt really care if the videos got blurred instead of blocky... but dunno what software would serve me on this purpose..
any ideas??? Can I make a better disc using another software (instantcopy is out of question) or should I convert all the videos to halfD1 or something and forget the 1:1 copy thing?
thanx for any help

I would try DVDshrink with deep analysis and see if that is better. If not you will have to split it to two discs. You can do other conversions, say to 1/2 DI, but you will have a lot more work. I suspect if there are 40 videos on the DVD they may already be compacted to the max.

but wouldn't shrink gimme the same results or similar? since they're from the same author? by the way, I've tried Recode with deep analysis too...
I'm seriously thinking about trying half D1... but it would be so nice to keep the menus and dvd-structure... and I seriously think I would lose that re-authoring right? (I'm no master to author the thing similar to the original)
