Howdy,
I'm thinking that I'm starving a little as I'm using WinXP, P4,1.8Ghz with 256MDDR. I'm not looking for overkill or anything, just wondering what would be a good fit for encoding. After reading some of the posts it looks like the processor is going to be pinned regardless of your speed so I guess that's not an issue I have anymore. But I am wondering if I can multi-task while encoding or other heavy CPU action or should I just let the 1 program hog all the goods.
I'm using Ulead Video Studio 7 for most of my needs
Thanks,
Max

I would go to 512MB. You may not see much improvement in encoding speed, but it should improve multitasking. Beyond 512MB, the gains are less.
