  1. Ok, I want to know the easiest most error free way to take bin/cue files to DVD. This is what I have been doing, I extract the mpg file from the bin file with isobuster then I take that a use either the new nero ultra, or sonic my dvd creator. Or I have been using vcd2dvd. Either way I have been having a lot of out of sync problems. Nero ultra and sonic take 4 hours to make 1 DVD. I tried rencoding the audio with tmpeg plus but that makes it worst. Also I am having problems with tak ing pal video and converting it to NTSC. Is there a way to do this? Like I said I want to know the easiest, Most dependable and the fastest way to this by keeping the programs down to 2-3.

    Thanks

  2. Savest way to make is work to make you own mpeg's. Cause then you know you got every little bit of the file.

If you didn't do the mpeg then there isn't a save way, except maybe for reencoding the mpeg to VCD or SVCD again.

Else it is just trail and error. You got files that work without doing any thing, you got files which work when you reencode the audio first with tmpgenc and then you got files which you need to sync by hand with an audio edit program.

Good luck VCD->DVD+R is a hard process that takes time and a lot of trying.

  3. I sometimes wonder if I am doing something wrong when I see questions and replies like this.

Before I found SVCD2DVD i was using Ulead to author my SVCDs into DVD and it was taking up to 23 hours. Then they had to be put through DVD2ONE to make them fit.

Now I take the downloaded Bin and cue files into one directory.
Open SVCD2DVD and point it towards that directory.
Select another directory pre names to the name of the film for it to go to.
check that the only files ticked are the 2 bin files.
press start, go away, have a cup of tea.
Never longer than 30 minutes later I return.
Open Power DVD and run the resulting files from the hard disk to ensure they are OK
Then I open Nero 6 and write DVD Movie.
Ensure the pink Video TS file is open.
then drag the Vobs etc produced from SVCD2DVD into that folder and write.

That's it. done , one working DVD exactly the same size as the original SVCds combined file size. And now into 3 figures with DVDs done this way. although I do not use titles, just let the film start as the DVD loads.

So, to me the safest way and by far the fastes, I mean,,,half an hour ???? there's nothing out there comes anywhere close to that.

That is because Ulead encodes the video&audio to real DVD format which takes some time and even worse it cause quality loss

Indeed it can only take longer much longer if you can't get the audio sync and i haven't found a program that does that for you so I say it again. VCD (SVCD give less troubles) to DVDR takes TIME, PATIENCE & EFFORT.

  5. That's just it yf........ out of the ones i have done i have only had ONE that had voice sync problems, that is less than 1%.

Then when I wrote the origianl svcd disc i found that the voice was out of sync on that, so really I can't blame the programme for outputting what was put in.

Am I just lucky or is it down to the quality of the bin and cue files originally. God only knows but tell you something yf till it starts to go pear shaped on me as it inevitably will (computers tend to lull you into a false sense of security i notice) then I shall continue doing simple things simply... cheers and all the best to you.

  6. Yeah I use SVCD2DVD Also, but here lately I have been getting alot of out of sync issues. I even check my source before I convert and everything is fine. Sometimes it freezes up when multiplexing and has frozen for 12-15 hours, so I just have to start over. I agree this program is the fastest way but still has a lot of bugs. Right now I need to know what is the best way to convert PAL DVD-R to NTSC. They play fine in my APEX but when someone borrows a movie on some high end dvd players I get compatibility problems.
