Does it do this only on your computer, or on your TV as well? If you've had the opportunity to test it on your TV...

  3. Its interlacing. There are guides on how to deinterlace on this site, do a search.

But if you are going to convert it to SVCD, or DVD and watch it on your TV, I wouldn't de-interlace it - it will make the motion in the video look funky.

    Not a problem

You had said in your first post that this also happens when you capture from your DV camera, but what is your current source video from? TV/VHS, a DVD rip, an SVCD that you are trying to convert to VCD?

What program(s) are you using to capture? How are you capturing? Via coax cable? Audio/Video (the red/white/yellow) cables? S-Video? What are you capturing to, AVI, MPEG? What are the settings you are using to capture? You mentioned PAL, so are you capturing at 25fps?

  9. OK sorry.

I hav a panasonic dv-amera with a onboard firewire card and use studio8 as my software.

So its full digital capturing and even the avi file have horisontal lines.
When i edit the avi file and play it back to my dvcam is perfect but when i convert it to dvd or vcd and play it on my tv it have horisontal stipes.

    Hope this helps
Thanks for the help so far.

  10. I'm getting a v.similar problem. Converted Aristocats from VHS to DVD. Field order A, interlace VBR of avg 7k, Burn to DVD disk. DVD looks great on Computer when played, but when played on TV gets loads of horizontal stripes across the whole screen - really naff. Not an interlace problem, I'm using the Quantization CG/Animation. Any tips ?
