I’ve been trying (with success) to convert QuickTime movie trailers into a format that will play on my DVD player. I use TMPGEnc PLUS 2.521 to convert the downloaded .mov file into an .mpg file. Then I use TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.5.20.62 with the AC-3 Plug-in (version 1.08) to prepare my file to be burned onto a DVD. Everything works fine, but the audio comes out too loud when played over my Onkyo Dolby Digital receiver. Is there a way that I can lower the volume of these trailers?
Thank you,
Rene Requenez

You can use GoldWave to manipulate the AC3 audio that your DVD will be using:

Just drop the amplitude (volume) a bit, and that should solve it. You could also normalise the audio to stop spikes from causing problems.
Hope this helps,

Thanks Cobra! I wrote to technical support at the gave me the following suggestion:
Please use "Audio effect" of "Setting" >"Audio" label, so a "Audio
Effect" windows will be worked. Check "Change Volume", then
"Normalization" your audio source for an comfortable level as you like.

< 100% decreases while > 100% increases in Tmpeg. Just for info.
Wish he would put buttons there. -
