  1. Hi guys newbie here, plz help, I have just burnt my first DVD with a 4X Prodisc DVD-R using DVD shirnk. After I press "BACK UP" DVD Srhink started to burn the DVD by itself and says "4X" but it took 1 hour to burn? Doesn't it take only 16min to burn at 4X? My burner is NEC 2500A

    thanks!

I didnt think DVDshrink burnt dvd's, i thought it uses Nero or DVDdecrypter to burn.

when you press the backup button dvdshrink will go and do its shrinking and then burn, it may of taken 44mins to do its shrinking and 16mins to do the burning.

use the burning software that came with your burner to test the burning time of your burner.

  3. It was my first time using it, so I thought DVD shrink could burn DVDs. I do have nero on my computer, but I am sure it didnt' use Nero.

thank you for the advice. I'll try it again.

  4. Just ripped using DVD shrink. Took 16 min for the ripping and then used Nero for burning. It took 35 min to burn at 4X (CMC +R).

Is there something wrong with the burner? I checked the BIOS and the UDMA mode is on.

    Thanks

possibly the media you are using is only rated at 2X. Try your burner manufacturer's website to see fi there are any firmware upgrades also. Try disabling DVD Shrink burning the files (let it shrink only) and burn them from scratch using the DVD-Video template in Nero Express.
    If in doubt, Google it.
