I'm converting D/L'd XviDs into SVCD and I use the Information window in VirtualDub to get information about the AVI files. Many of them report insignificant preload values for the audio and they cause no problems. Some however have very significant preload values like 1.32sec.
What does the pre-load value mean? Does it mean the video needs to run for this duration before the audio starts?
If so, is the correct procedure to extract the audio and then manually add the preload value worth of silence to the beginning to get correct audio sync with the video?
