  1. Hi All

I've had a Leadtek Winfast TV2000 XP Deluxe card for about 2 months now. When I first bought the card, I had an older computer with an Athlon 550 chip and I was able to capture VCD-quality Mpegs with the packaged software (Winfast PVR or Ulead Video Studio 7 SE).

I then decided I wanted to be able to capture at DVD quality so I built a whole new computer and the only part I kept was the capture card. My current setup is:

    Athlon XP2800+
MSI 6590 Motherboard (Via KT600 Chipset)
    Giga-Byte Radeon 9200 AGP Card with 128MB
    512MB PC3200 RAM
80GB WD Special Edition Hard Drive
    Sony DRU-510 DVD-R Drive
Windows XP Professional SP 1 with latest DirectX and all latest updates

Anyway, now I'm having serious problems with my leadtek card. Capture (both the preview and the actual capture) tend to freeze unexpectedly after anywhere from 45 seconds to 10 minutes of activity. The computer doesn't freeze, but won't shut down either.

I tried the latest drivers and the previous drivers from leadtek and then I switched to generic Conexant BTPCI WDM Drivers I found through this site and the freezes became a little less frequent but still happen. I tried many different drivers for my Radeon card too (including the latest drivers and just using no drivers at all). I've tried just about every kind of capture software out there (Winfast PVR, Ulead Video Studio, IuVCR, VirtualDub, Intervideo WinDVR, Snapstream PVR, etc).

Any ideas about how to stop the freezes?

    hello geekinchief

I have the same capture card with the same problem. Did you ever figure out what solves the problem? If so, please share the solution with me.

Thanks in advance for your help.
