This thread from a day or two ago was locked with a rather cryptic comment by the mighty Galactica ... not sure why it was locked, but I wanted to add something.

I was puzzled by the original post there. So as a test I inserted a DVD i ripped and burned last night, and then ripped this decrypted copy with 0sex in progressive stream mode and then later in elementary stream mode. Both worked fine, so I'm not sure what the original poster's problem is, but it's not 0sex. Perhaps its the DVD.

Master Galactica layed the smackdown on the post
because the jack@$$ admitted he was bootlegging
DVDs from netflix one post up before Galactica
cut him with the dual lightsaber...

And for the record, I agree...That moron
clearly gets what he deserves ( no help)
    especially after ADVERTISING blatantly
    he's a crook.....

what also didnt make since was "already ripped DVD's" makes it sound like its something that was already copied.

dont know about your netflix rentals, but when i was doing that they were REAL dvd's!

its illegal to copy a dvd you dont own. Do you own netflix dvd's? NO
thus my "cryptic" message of DUDE WHATS WITH PEOPLE THESE DAYS!

    per your question
you can "backup" a already "backed up" dvd by any means you see fit. It doesnt matter one way. Use the ripper - cool. Toast it - cool. Option drag to the HD - cool. NO encryption codes so you can do it however you want

  5. It makes for an interesting question nonetheless. Dealing in hypotheticals, what happens if you want a less expensive backup of your backup? If anyone has kids you know that the originals are just shiny and colorful enough to attract their curious little hands. Scritchy-scratch and no amount of liquid soap or toothpaste will fix the darn thing. So what do you do? Re-image the DVD and try to rip the mounted image? YadeX seems to do a good job of that. Is there another program (not OSex or YadeX) that can make a vob from a video_ts on your desktop? Can you simply grab the vobs out of the video_ts and join them with mpegtxwrap? All very interesting questions, and was why I was helping (or at least trying to help) the poster on the previous thread. YadeX seems to work for me anyone want to pick the thread back up?

Thanks for that, but I didn't actually ask any questions (other than 'why was that thread locked'). I was just interested in that guy's statement about not being able to extract streams from an already decrypted disc.

    Cheers!
