Hi all,
This is a newbie / configuration question on DVD burners.
I have a new Ricoh 5240 4xDVD+R/+RW burner and have just managed to burn my first disc over the last few days. I am running Windows XP Professional (SP1). I am using Nero (updated to 5.5.10.56) and are currently burning on DVD+RW (4X).
Nero does not have any options in the selection box to change the burn speed from the maximum that the disc-burner combination will allow. When I put in a diffferent +RW disc the speed changed to the max writing speed of the disc (in this case 2.4X) but I still had no options to select a 1X burn!
I wish to burn a few test discs at a lower speed as I have encountered a playback problem with a couple of players (despite bitsetting as ROM) where they actually freeze the playback after starting.
Is there any configuration in Nero or in the PC System area that will allow a choice of burn speeds (including 1x) to be there? Do I need to get the latest version or Nero or another package to do this? Does the DVD drive need a firmware upgrade?
Thanks in advance.
ntrprs
PS: The burning software that came with the DVD drive (B Recorder Gold) also does not have options to select the burn speed!![]()
