  1. I converted a video from AVI to DVD MPEG using tnmpeg plus, made sure that the ratios were 16:9 because thats the format of the original. also made sure to select full screen (keep aspect ratio) the out put to *.m2v and *.mp2

The output m2v file plays correctly.. at this point.

next used dvd lab to author the dvd..

output of the dvdlab playes correctly. via powerdvd player...

I burn the dvd with nero, (not express or vision) to a dvd, followed the guide from this site.

When played on a player, it shows at 4:3 full screen.. I even checked that player to see if its aspect ratio was set to 16:9 and it was?

so whats the deal? Later ill check to see if it plays fine on a PC or other players but I have a feeling it wont.

  2. just a follow up, did test it on other "PC" baised players and it seems to be playing in 16:9 also burnt a second copy with the same results. Anyone know what could cause the set top player to play at 4:3 on this video but not on others?
