  1. DVDLab is a very good software. It support AC3 and dts. But the thing is after using for a couple of months is has errors. The errors are it stop compiling at mid point and the most popular is the runtime error. Can anyone tell me how to fix it or can anyone recommend other software like DVDLab. Thanks.

You need to give a lot more detail than that.

    What version ?
What exactly are the errors ?
Does this happen with all compiles, or only some ?
What is your source material ?
How do you encode it ?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software ?

I have been using DLP for a couple of years, and never had a compile problem. I am using 2.27 at the moment, and will probably update when 2.34 comes out.

  4. I am using ver 1.6. The errors are it stops compiling half way and will show that compiling is done. And also microsoft runtime error c++. This happens after a couple months of use (always). Reinstalling can't solve the problem, it will still has the microsoft runtime error c++. I am using mpeg 2 to compile. The only way to solve the problem is to reformat the whole PC and it waste time. I've tried ver2.0 but there is a memory error (runs out f memory). Please help. Thanks.

If your specs are correct, then your PC is pretty much at the bottom end of being capable of doing this type of work. I'm not surprised you are having problems, and a complete reformat a rebuild would probably do your system good.

You could try GUIForDVDAuthor, which is free. But I cannot think of anything else that would run on such a low spec system.

  6. I am using a P4 1.8 with 256Ram. Is it sufficient? But according to its spec it is enough.

256 MB of ram is barely enough to run XP once you have anti-virus software and a good firewall running. I would say 512 MB is a minimum for XP, and 1 GB is where running graphics or video applications becomes a comfortable experience.

However, the bottom line is that a couple of months ago something changed on your system. You installed or uninstalled something that has changed the system and stopped DLP from working correctly. If you want to use it, then you need to fix the underlying problem. If that means a re-build of the system, then that's what it needs.
