Hi,
All worked well for months. Installed Yahoo messanger yesturday and this is what happens now whenever I try to play ** ANY ** movie with WMP, PowerDVD, etc!!

Stills look good just like before, real player plays movies just fine? What is wrong? Also noticed that when WMP plays movies the CPU is way up - like 40%. Before it was 3-4%. Tried everything - mpg1, mpg2, avi not compressed, avi DiviX. Same problem? HEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!
Re-installed drivers, re-installed directx 8a, same. Also another change is that IE6 icon (the little blue E) now is more blue than normal - I mean it used to be light blue, now its dark blue with no shadow?

It could be your desktop settings...
They could have changed to 256 color or something...
Go to those settings, if the color is the usual one, change it, restart and change it back and restart again...
Should fix it nicely

Found out what it is but dont know how to fix - my hardware acceleration direct draw is OFF and there is no way to turn it on. A month ago it was ON, no the enable button is grayed out. How can I turn it back ON? Re-installing direct X does not help. I get this status from dxdiag.exe program.
