When I use svcd2dvd to author, say using 2 mpegs it plays ok in dvd but pauses where beginning of second file was , it seems authoring does not join files properly, but in your guide it says " Never join your mpegs
Many people join mpegs to create a continuous file. This will lead to audio sync issues. The mpegs are joined in the DVD authoring stage so you really don’t need to bother".
Am i missing some step
Thanks

Yeah ive had this problem alot too and the only way ive round it ive found is to use another authoring program...I use TMPGEncDVDAuthor as it pretty straight forward.

is there no other way to join the files first before authoring and keep audio in sync- i have done this before using tmpgenc to join and have had mixed results- almost 100% when the source is pal but about 50% if ntsc, usually joining cause out of sync audio on second part of file
Also i have tried using tmpgauthor but it always says svcd2dvd output is illegal stream and cant ignore (gop too long etc) -
It works for me if i use the dvd2svcd settings, program streams and entire file in horizontal res patch value. author using TMPGEncDVDAuthor then use dvdpatcher to change the res back to orginal resolution before you burn the disk with nero...
To be honest im slowly giving up with svcd2dvd cos the encodes arnt as good as i want then to be. Its a great prog and does what it says...Well nearly just needs a bit more work and it will be excellent ...)
If you look around you will find a post that i made with this same problem that was never answered so you may not get an answer either....

Well i have authered movies with TMPGEncDVDAuthor with out a problem with no pauses that paused when i did it with dvd2svcd so i think the problem lies with the way dvd2svcd joins the movies and not the origianl mpgs themselves..

It is a combination of 3 things:
- source mpegs
- Authoring s/ware
- DVD player
I have only control over the middle one. I used to get the ocasional 'issue' at join points but not since i changed my DVD player....
I will be working on a theory to "tidy up" the end of the mpeg's structure with the hope that this will improve things.SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

gazinc: you can use svcd2dvd to patch all the VOBs back to 480 in one go...
