AC3 to AVI XForm is actually a FILTER named "MPGAudio.ax".
I keep mine in the system32 directory of my win2k machine, and can unregister it by typing at a command prompt;
"%WINDIR%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32 /U MPGAudio.ax" -
You can use the Device Manager and look under Sound, video & game controllers.
Look for the Audio Codecs - right-click & select Properties.
The Properties tab next shows you installed audio codecs.
You can use the Remove button to uninstall any.

install this free app -- http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/dxman.htm
and have complete control over all your codecs -- even many that dont show up in device manager"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
