VCD, SVCD, KVCD ????

Ok Guys, all I need to know is which of the various VCD formats will give me the best picture when burnt to disk and which of these formats will still fit onto just 2 CD's.

Another thing is, whan a movie is compressed to an avi file, can it be de-compressed or re-formatted to create DVD quality files.

This is the only thing holding me back from registering the app ( Sorry Major ).

SVCD will give the best picture but will often require 3 CDs. For intermediate quality and 2 CDs, use CVD or KSVCD.

You can of course re-encode an avi file back to DVD, but each time you re-encode, no matter the format, there is a slight quality loss depending on the encoding options.
