  1. Hi,

been reading through the site for some time, basically i have a number of files in various different formats, xvid, divx etc etc.

Is there any program that will take this file and burn it onto dvd without me having to mess around with multiplexing, converting etc. etc.

obviously i want my dvd to be compatible with a stand alone dvd player.

    im willing to spend £800

Also i understand that i may have to use a seperate program to burn the dvds this is ok, but which program should i get? i tried nero but it only supports miniDVD not actual DVD

Nero is your best bet as far as ease of use goes. Quality won't be the greatest but that's to be expected when you allow a single program to do all of the work for you. After starting Nero you should see the new compilation window. Do you have a drop box in the upper left corner that you can change to DVD? If not, this might be because you presently have a cd-rw drive selected as your recorder instead of your DVD burner. Or maybe you just have an old version. You might want to do a little more tinkering with Nero before you blow your money on something you may not even need.
