I have tried khypermedia, starlogic, and princo... but all have the end freezing problem. Anyone gotten the 5112 to work with any cheaper media? khypermedia is not that cheap. I can get it to work with Maxell dvd-rW, but those are rws...
all burned at 1x and the khypermedia dye is a lot darker than the princo.
aparently khypermedia is made by CMC which also makes verbatims, and toshiba claims is fully compatible.

Which sostware do you use for your compression/burning?
Use dvd x copy instead of dvd shrink + nero (in case you do so). This solved my problem of freezing on 2/3 of the movie on the same recorder.
