I'm having troubles with my Toshiba D-VR70DT (which is sold somewhere as D-VR19DT. It has a DVB-t tuner: trouble is that it sticks to old VHF channel names used in Italy (letters instead of numbers, i.e. D, G, H, H1 etc. instead of 5, 6, 9 etc.). Frequencies are not coincident, which explains the problem. Italy has switched to the European standard in June 2009, and now I can't tune in on VHF channels. I tried to "fool" the machine by saying that my country is, say, Germany or Switzerland, and I can tune VHF channels, but LCN numbering is screwed up so badly that this solution is not practical. Is there a way to update firmware to the European VHF standard?
Any help will be much appreciated.

Contact Toshiba's customer service. I've found Toshiba's customer service to be among the best. I've contacted them several times about firmware updates and they always responded and solved my problem, even sending me firmware update CD's without charge.
