  1. Hi

I am having troubles with my Sony DRU-510A, I canīt burn faster then 1,2X. It seems to be a problem with my device buffer, it fills up to 100% but in 2seconds itīs on 0%. I use DVD decrypter to burn my img files.

Does anyone know a solution to this problem? i have uppdated my firmware but i didīnt work.

Exactly what firmware version are you currently using and what media are you burning to?

  4. The Sony burners are very picky about media and it's media and burner dependent also. Try a newer firmware and see if it helps. My 500a only burns about 3 types of minus media at 4x, the rest do double or error out before the burn. If your lucky with the newest firmware it might burn more then mine does at 4x, depends on the individual drive, some work better then others but most are like mine. The 510 is a very similar drive to mine but some say it's a bit better with the media, maybe not though.

Sony's quality control is VERY sketchy. Some Sony burners are great, others are TERRIBLE. It's luck of the draw, it seems.

  8. change the media,. use only Sony media for a test. If it works then, you know its that cheap media you are using. Sony support has a list of what media works.

  10. Try downloading the DSS program from the sony site, and set it to overdrive. That really speeds mine up to 4.1x burning..Hope this help, let me know if it helped you....
