  1. For some reason with DVD Shrink, when I put in a backup of a dvd and I hit open disk it says:

    Failed to open file
The reason is: The system cannot find the file specified.

So when I try to use smart ripper, I choose file mode, choose all the files, and then hit start. It appears to work ok, except when I check the folder I rip to it only has 300 gigs on it. All the .vob files are smaller than what's on the backup dvd. When I look at the dvd in explorer it's a full 4.0 gigs.

This doesn't happen with all backups...only some.
    Anyone encountered this before?

  2. Try using windows explorer to copy the files to the hard drive. I have done this a few times on trouble DVDR's and it worked for me.

  3. If your backups are giving you grief, just copy the original again.

That is what you make "backups" for, right ? It's a no-brainer, surely.

    Or DVDDecrypter ....ISO Read/Write mode.
Although I do have one DVD-R that will only copy "on the fly" with my B's Recorder Gold 5 that came with my LG 4040B....it craps out in DVDDecrypter also.....weird.
It might be that if you are using your DVD Rom drive to RIP....it may be ripping too fast.....just a thought.
