  1. I fairly new to this, and I've got a 1hr 55min DivX file that I am trying to convert either to DVD or SVCD and either burn onto 1 DVD disk or if not 2 CD's. I'm using TMPG to do the conversion but can't seem to get the file to fit. The image size is 640x272 pixles (if that makes any difference) and the audio is MPEG Layer-3. I've looked through the How To's and other forum posts and can't seem to find the answer so any help would be great!!

  2. At the end of the wizard in TMPGEnc, there will be a blue bar running across the window. This will probably have red at the end. This shows how much disc space the file takes up, and the blue bit shows the capacity of the disc.

If you look above this bar, you can set how much disc capacity (in %) your film should take up. Set this to 98%. It will automatically adjust the bitrate (amount of data used) for the film to fit.

    Hope this helps,

  3. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately TMPG won't let me reduce the percentage below 142%. I assume the it is saying that it won't allow the file to go any smaller or the bitrate will fall below 2000. I have just noticed that when I go into the source data option on the screen before as if I was going to cut the file into two, it tells me that the file is 1hr 55mins, however on the last screen of the wizard it tells me that the movie size is 345mins??? I've also tried converting to SVCD, but I can only get it to fit onto 3 CD's, or would still have to use 2 DVD's.

  4. OK, try this:

Fifth one down - this may be what's making TMPGEnc think the video is running far too long, and no doubt giving you a headache too!
