  1. I was wondering if there is any firmware I could use to increase the ripping speed of my NEC ND-1300A? The drive is a year old and originally came with 1.05. I then recently upgrade it to 1.08(non hacked) version. Im only interested in upgrading if the firmware is safe and has no side effects since its my only DVD drive and I don't want to screw it up..

Download the Bin Patcher from here:
    http://www.herrie.org/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=39#cat

Only select the rip limit option and that is all that will be changed.

  3. I downloaded it but how do I get it to work? I selected "2x rip limt" and hit "Auto" and then it asks what bin file to patch. Not sure what to do??

  4. I believe all hacked firmwares at herrie's have the rip-limit removed.

  5. The details on the latest Hacked firmware say that it only works on drives with original firmware 1.06 -1.08. Mine was 1.05. Anyway it looks sketchy and from reading the comments, some folks are having some issues with it. I just want to remove the rip limit. Can anyone provide any help to install the Bin Pathcer listed earlier?

  6. OK, problem solved. I downloaded the older Hacked firmware 1.07v4 which doesn't have all the book type features. It now starts ripping at 4x and finishes at 12x for a single layer disc. Much faster

    Hi,

I got NEC 1300a with 1.09 official firmware. Then I flashed it to 1.08 hacked. The rip speed did not change. For DVD Decrypter, it started at 2x and ended at 5x. I also tried 1.07v4 hacked. Same thing. Is this normal? Thanks!

  8. I also use DVD Decrypter. It looks like yours is not locked becuase you can get 5x. Try different DVD's.

    Hi,

I finally flash the 1300a to 1.0A. The rip speed is much faster. It started at 4x and ended at 9x.
