  1. I had MF2 and I downloaded the trial MF3, and I have everything set to exactly how I want it, but everytime I go to burn a DVD on MF3, it crashes and turns off.

I can burn on MF2, just not on MF3. I tried using the MF3 project that I made and burn it on MF2, but MF2 won't recognize it.

    Any help please?

  2. Anyone?
    Is anyone having similar problems?

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but nothing. Same thing.

  3. 1. Your project settings?

    2. The precise video/audio properties of your source clips?

  4. Here are my av properties. All videos are identical in settings.

This is my output setting. I have tried disabling "Include project file to disc" and have tried chaning the name of the disc. I can't burn to disc, create an iso image, or output the DVD folders. Everything it goes to encoding, it crashes.

  6. Have you tried to uninstall then reinstall the program? Sometimes that can repair errors. It kinda sounds like your burner isn't supported. Reinstalling the program might fix it.

    Best of luck.

  7. I'm not sure. I am able to produce a DVD with MF2 with the same exact files. But I can't make submenus with MF2. MF3 makes what I want. But I can't burn cause it'll crash.

  8. Yes, I have completely uninstalled it it and reinstalled it. No difference.
Are you guys able to burn with MF3 trial version?

  9. At least you didn't buy the program. (trialware right?)

You ready to try a good program now? Tmpgenc Dvd Author.

  10. I have that. It was nice, but I don't like the video quality it's producing. I made the exact same video as with MF2 but I would get strange lines across the screen. It also changed some of the tints. That's why I tried MF3, and was happy with it, but I can't burn.

I'll tell you, if it ain't one thing, it's another, huh? lol

  11. I bought the "Disc Creator" version.

If you don't use any of the "editing" features of Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3, you can burn very nice menus with your source video/audio with no re-encoding, which is nice because the quality of one's source video/audio remains very high.

    I've written a step-by-step tutorial about the Multi-Trim feature:

    http://www.jonesgroup.net/multitrimstepone.htm

It would seem that UNLIKE the editing applications...

    VideoStudio 7.01

    http://www.ulead.com/vs/runme.htm

    MediaStudio Pro 7.01

    http://www.ulead.com/msp/runme.htm

...DVD MovieFactory 3's editing features cause re-encoding of the source video/audio - even when project settings are adjusted to match the properties of the source.

So my procedure is as follows:

EDIT in a video EDITING application (VideoStudio/MediaStudio).

    AUTHOR in an AUTHORING application.

  12. I did absolutely no editing with MF3. I have all my video's exactly how I want them. I only used MF3 to create the DVD with menu's. Still, as soon as I press out, it goes to "Encoding..." and crashes. Do you think I should uninstall my MF2?

If your video files are not using the 'exact' setting that program require or the the program 'is setup for' then its going to reencode. I think you can change the dvd template properties and try to keep it from reencoding the video. I don't remember how to do that but I think its easy to find. It's in like project or template settings or something.

  14. Did you click the PROJECT SETTINGS button to adjust your PROJECT SETTINGS to match the properties of your source clips?

As explained at the bottom of this tutorial page:

    http://www.jonesgroup.net/multitrimstepsix.htm

    ?

Also do you have the DO NOT CONVERT COMPLIANT MPEG FILES box CHECKED?

If so, there should be no "Encoding..."

In my experience, re-encoding only occurs if one edits the source clips, or if one adds titles, or if one adds transitions/background music.

  15. Just tried that. Also tried every thing as directed in that website. It seemed as though it was going to work, but no, still crashes. No burn, iso, folders. It just can't output.

I don't understand why I can work just fine with MF2, but not with MF3.

  16. Well, I've removed all Ulead software that I had installed. Make sure there wasn't a trace of Ulead, rebooted, and tried installing only MF3. Same thing. Sucks. I don't think I'll be able to use this.

I think I'll stick to MF2 over TMPGEnc because of the video quality. Meanwhile, I'll look for alternatives.

  17. I'm running the *purchased* version 3.0 of DVD MovieFactory "Disc Creator" on three workstations:

    Workstation #1

    Asus A7N266 mainboard
    NVIDIA nForce chipset
    NVIDIA GeForce 2 integrated GPU
    CMI8738/C3DX DirectAudio Device
ADS Pyro IEEE 1394 controller card
    AMD Athlon XP2000+ (1.67ghz)
Windows XP Home Service Pack 1
    1gb PC2100 DDR memory
    Panasonic SW-9571 external DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD-RAM
    Panasonic LF-D321 internal DVD-R/DVD-RAM

    Workstation #2

    Asus A7N8X mainboard
    NVIDIA nForce 2 chipset
Asus V9180 video display PCI adapter
    NVIDIA nForce Audio Codec Interface
    Adaptec FireConnect 4300
    AMD Athlon XP2400+ (2.0ghz)
    Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
    1gb PC2100 DDR memory
    Panasonic LF-D311 DVD-R/DVD-RAM drive

    Workstation #3 (mobile)

    Toshiba 1955 S805 (laptop)
    Pentium 4 2.5ghz processor
    512mb memory
    Integrated OHCI compliant IEEE 1394
Windows XP Home Service Pack 1
    Toshiba SD-R6012 DVD-R/DVD-RW drive

    No problems.

You might bring the issue to the attention of Ulead's Los Angeles tech support staff:

    1 (310) 896-6391, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm PST.

Maybe they have run into this problem and - perhaps - know of a solution.

  18. I was annoyed to find that the 100+ mb download appears to be just 'MF3' demo not 'Disk Creator' i.e. it won't import AC3 audio AND I can't seem to do anything involving a DVD+RW (VR) disk from my Philips set top DVD recorder either without it locking up.

How are we supposed to 'try before we buy' in this case? I still don't know if the software will work properly with my set up as the demo won't work and I don't know if that's because of 'issues' or just that I'm trying to use features that aren't available in MF3.

So I won't be buying based on my trials - 'Sonic Mydvd' has been slated on here also, what else is there? I want a fairly simple prog' that I can use with the disks from my standalone recorder.

  20. There are many problems with this demo. See this thread - I'm very disappointed in the demo as well. It is worthless to someone making an evaluation. The general theme is "trust us, when you pay for it, it will work."

Hey Specialist, is this guy a freeloader too?
